Applications for the Master of Arts in Economics are currently being accepted via UChicago Advanced Scholars. Questions regarding the application should be directed to Michelle Trimpe, Director of the Advanced Scholars Program, at mtrimpe@uchicago.edu. Questions regarding the MAE Program should be directed to Emma Rubenstein, Student Affairs Administrator at ma-econ@uchicago.edu.
The PhD programs in Anthropology, Conceptual and Historical Studies of Science, Political Economy, and Social Thought will not be admitting new PhD students in 2026. Students interested in those programs are encouraged to apply to our Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS), International Relations (CIR), Computational Social Science (MACSS), or another related PhD program.
Applicants are welcome to apply to more than one program within the Division of the Social Sciences.
